Introduction
AROC (Advancing Rights & Opportunities for vulnerable Children) is a key project by
UWESO (Uganda Women’s Effort to Save Orphans), focusing on empowering vulnerable kids in Uganda through education, protection from harm (violence, abuse), and improving their well-being, often supported by partners like USAID and the UAE, aiming to give children a better future.
Key Focus Areas of AROC:
Education: Enhancing access and opportunities for vulnerable children.
Child Protection: Safeguarding children from violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect (VAC).
Health & Well-being: Improving access to HIV prevention and sexual reproductive health services, especially for adolescent girls and young women (AGYW).
Community Strengthening: Building capacity for child protection committees and addressing root causes of vulnerability.
Partners & Reach
Works in various districts, including those in North East Uganda (Mbale, Soroti, Kotido).
Receives significant funding and support from USAID and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for projects like the USAID OVC North East Activity and the AROC project itself.
