RE: UCG Call for Nominations
This is to inform all members that 3 positions on the UCG board are vacant.
UWESO Cooperative Group (UCG) was established to empower UWESO members and communities by fostering sustainable economic growth, social welfare, and collective ownership. Its primary objective is to become a leading cooperative group in Uganda, driving financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance among its members.
It’s against this background that we invite applications from eligible members to fill these positions. Elections will be held during the 2nd Annual general Meeting (AGM), date and venue will be communicated.
The following positions are open for nominations:
- Chairperson
- Vice Chairperson
- Treasurer
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for nomination, a member must:
- Be a UCG fully subscriber member for at least 2 months.
- Hold minimum share capital of UGX 20,000
- Be of Good standing in society
- Experience in business management, finance, and a strong business acumen.
- Being an active member of another cooperative will be an advantage, as we want to target transferable skills for better management.
- Understanding of cooperative governance and bylaws.
- Must have completed at least S.4 and be able to read, write, and communicate effectively with members.
- Must reside in Uganda for at least three-quarters of the year.
- Be above 18 years of age
- Not having been declared bankrupt by competent courts
Be willing to provide voluntary service to SACCO.
